Industry: Supplements, e-commerce · Channels: Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, retail, Meta, Google · Engagement: Ongoing

The problem

Naked Nutrition sells supplements across every major channel, Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, and retail, running significant ad spend on Meta and Google. The business was growing. The reporting wasn't keeping up.

Leadership wanted a simple thing: which ads were working, where sales were being lost, where the opportunity was. Getting an answer meant logging into five platforms, pulling numbers by hand, and stitching them together, which took hours, and by the time anyone had the full picture the data was already stale.

Naked Nutrition used Amazon to fulfill orders from its own Shopify store. When a product sold out on Amazon, it silently killed Shopify D2C sales too, same fulfillment, same inventory. Revenue would drop and nobody could say why until the damage was already done.

The team was reactive by design. Ad impressions could drop to zero and they'd keep paying. A bestseller could run low for days before anyone caught it.

The build

Orbit built a data lake connecting every platform through Adverity into BigQuery, then put a daily report on top of it with three levels of granularity: yesterday's sales, spend, inventory moves, and performance flags; the past 7 days for momentum; and the past 30 for the patterns that only show up over time. It covers inventory across every fulfillment channel, organic and paid social performance, ad spend and ROAS by platform, and sales broken out by Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and retail, delivered to leadership's inbox every morning. No logins, no manual pulls.

An anomaly detection layer sits on top of the data. When a product gets close to selling out, an alert fires. When ad impressions drop to zero, an alert fires. Leadership knows before the revenue impact shows up instead of after.

The second phase added cohort analysis: customer lifetime value by acquisition month, retention by cohort, what strategy worked and what should change for the next one. Analysis that used to take weeks to assemble now runs automatically.

The results

  • Weeks → minutes time to insight, especially on cohort-driven budget decisions
  • 5 platforms unified into one daily view
  • Zero manual pulls, reports build themselves

Before, leadership logged into five platforms and tried to stitch together a picture that was already out of date by the time it was finished. After, one report, delivered daily, covering every channel that matters, with problems surfacing before they cost money.

Time to insights reduced from weeks to minutes, especially on cohort-related budget decisions.

When you're spending millions across five channels, the question isn't whether you need visibility. It's how long you can afford to fly without it.
